What are lash extensions?
It’s a skilful application of lash extension on to the clients natural lashes one by one to enhance the length, curl thickness and volume of their lashes for special occasions or everyday wear, and the added benefit of having beautiful lashes 24/7 with out the need to apply mascara.

Do lash extension cause damage?
If the correct lashes, application and after care is used then there should be no damage to natural lashes, often eyelashs can get healthier as the natural lashes are not getting curled, covered in mascara and rubbed, and the client is paying more attention to cleaning and caring for the lashes and eye area.

What causes damage?
Unqualified people trying their hand at applying lash extensions.
The application process which requires the use of strong bonding and long lasting adhesive and tweezers near the eye area is very meticulous. Only under the supervision of a well qualified trainer can a lash technician learn how to properly position their hands, pick up lash extensions, isolate a single natural lash and apply the lash extension safely and beautifully.

Cluster, flares and strip lashes
These types of lashes are designed to be applied using temporary lash adhesive for short term wear, usually one day.
These lashes are far to heavy for a single natural lash to support, if applied to a single natural lash the can break the natural lash and inhabit future regrowth.

Are eyelash extension suitable for everyone?
Whilst suitable for most people there are some situations where eyelash extensions should not be applied.

How long does the application take?
A full set of classic lashes can take approximately 1.5-2 hours to apply
Maintainance appointments are recommended every 2-3 weeks and can take up to 1 hour.

After care:
Avoid lashes getting wet for the first 24 hours after application (this includes swimming pools, saunas, sweaty gym sessions and all eye makeup.
It is really important to keep lashes clean from dirt, oil and makeup build up, which can affect the health of your natural lashes and extensions.
We recommend you gently cleaning your lashes daily with a lash cleanser and rinse well with water.
Gently groom your lashes daily with the brush your stylist has given you.
Avoid rubbing eyes, picking or playing with your lash extensions.
Do not use a mechanical eyelash curler, tint or perm your extensions.
Be careful around excessive heat as it may affect and distort lashes, eg open fires, bbqs, opening ovens, hair dryer.
Avoid sleeping on your eyelash extensions or having them pushed into a pillow.
Avoid all oil\glyol containing makeup or face care products coming into contact with your lash extensions, it will shorten the life of your extensions.
Avoid waterproof mascara and liquid eyeliners (mascara is not recommended on top or extensions)
It is normal to lose between 1-5 lashes everyday, this is part of your eyelashes natural shedding process, have lashes infilled every 2-3 weeks to keep them looking full and gorgeous.
NEVER pull off or try to remove the lash extensions yourself, as this will pull out and damage your natural lashes.
